Why We Created Them

The Gulmohar and the Golden Cassia
The gulmohar and the golden cassia represent two different emotional processes.
The gulmohar, often called the flame flowering tree, blooms in intense bursts of red. It is immediate, visible, and impossible to ignore. This reflects emotional expression - the moments when something rises within you and demands to be felt. Anger, grief, truth, release.
The golden cassia blooms differently. Its flowers hang and fall gently, often forming a quiet layer on the ground. This reflects emotional integration - the process of softening, letting go, and returning to a steady state after something has been felt.
These are not separate experiences. They are part of the same cycle.
In psychology, this can be understood as:
activation - when emotion rises and is expressed
regulation - when the body and mind return to balance
In Buddhist understanding, this reflects cause and effect:
what arises must be seen clearly
what is seen clearly can be released
